Would you like to become a Doula?

The Birthing Tree has been awarded scholarship funds to train doulas in the state of New Mexico at no cost to participants. We believe that every birth deserves a trained doula, and we are excited to help make these vital birth support more accessible than ever before. 

We are hosting Birth Doula & Postpartum Doula trainings in-person and virtually. You may choose to take just one, or both at no cost to you!

What does the training include?

This opportunity will be completely free for participants. If you commit to training, you will receive: 

  • In-Person or virtual training with a CAPPA Doula Trainer, Abby Bordner

  • All books, materials, and certification fees at no cost to you

  • A 12 month mentorship and accountability program

  • Training on how to start your own business or join an existing one

  • Paid work experiences when working as a birth doula or postpartum doula

Ready to Apply?

Who qualifies:

  • Must be a resident of New Mexico

  • Must be 18 or older

  • Must be able to attend an in-person training in Santa Fe, OR attend a virtual training

  • Must be willing to complete the training requirements of CAPPA (click here to read more)

  • Must be willing to be on-call for paid clients once you've completed training

    • You have reliable transportation​

    • You have a reliable phone number

    • You have childcare for other children

    • You have a flexible schedule, birth can happen anytime, day or night

  • Must have a passion for helping NM families feel supported during the process of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum​
